Impact of Hydrogen on Natural Gas Compositions to Meet Engine Gas Quality Requirements

چکیده
To meet the target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, hydrogen as a carbon-free fuel is expected to play major role in future energy supplies. A challenge with its low density and volumetric value, meaning that large tanks are needed store transport it. By injecting into natural network, transportation issue could be solved if hydrogen–natural mixture satisfies grid quality requirements set by legislation standards. The end consumers usually have stricter limitations on than grid, where Euromot, European association internal combustion engine manufacturers, has specific parameters: methane number Wobbe index. This paper analyses how much can added fulfil Euromot’s requirements. An average composition was calculated based most common ones Europe 2021, results show 13.4% mixed consisting 95.1% methane, 3.2% ethane, 0.7% propane, 0.3% butane, carbon dioxide, 0.5% nitrogen. suggested indicates for manufacturers suitable their engines.
